Jose Berrios Has Arrived And It’s About Time

Do we dare? Are we allowed? Is it even possible? Guys, I’m buying. Jose Berrios has arrived and he’s here to stay. I’ve been saying for two years now — look back at any of my Twins blogs if you don’t believe me — we needed an ace, and I think now we have one in Berrios, and Ervin Santana has been pitching out of his mind so far this year before today. I didn’t watch either of the Twins games today, but looking at the highlights and the box…

10 Things You May Have Missed In The MLB This Week

Just a quick 10 things I saw so far since Opening Day Sunday in Major League Baseball. 1. Twins Sweep? Woah guys. Is this team good? Sorry I titled this article “things you may have missed” and then start with the one thing that you could not have missed if you’re in any way a Twins fan. Minnesota swept the Royals this week. Last year, they finished 4-15 against them and never won two in a row. Overall, the Twins only had winning streaks of three or more four times. That…

Heyyyyooooo Twins Win

Hey guys. The Twins are 1-0, and they actually looked pretty good in all facets of the game today. They hadn’t won opening day since 2011. Lesson number one though: this team is not very good. They had one good inning and got some exception pitching from Ervin Santana, which won’t happen often. Things I am happy about: Santana allowed just one run on two hits and two walks in seven innings. His control was unreal for almost every batter. Who knows, maybe that’s on Castro behind the plate. He didn’t…

Congratulations Michael Cuddyer, Twins HoF

This photo of Michael Cuddyer and me was taken about Jan. 15, 2003 at Polaris in Roseau, Minnesota during the Twins Winter Caravan. I met Dick Bremer that day, and he asked me who my favorite player was. “Torii Hunter,” I answered, without hesitation. “Well,” he replied. “Today your favorite player is Michael Cuddyer.” To my credit, I was eight, and Mr. Cuddyer had only stepped up to the plate 143 times in a Twins uniform at that point in time. I was, and still am, a big Twins fan, but I had…

Results Are In: Fans Pick Which MN Team They Want To Win A Title

We might be on to something here. These polls are fun, and I like seeing what people think. With this one, I guessed the Vikings would win, but I didn’t see it being by this big of a margin. This poll crossed the screens of 1,482 Twitter users, and 483 people couldn’t scroll past without voting. I’m not sure how the rest didn’t vote, because I can’t scroll past a poll and not vote. I don’t care if it’s something I have absolutely no knowledge about. It could be a poll…
