After months and months of speculation from both sides, it appears that we will all get what we want on August 26th as Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor have agreed to a fight.
Mayweather vs McGregor is actually happening…
Kevin lole from Yahoo Sports broke the news today that we in fact have a boxing match on August 26th between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor. Right now the fight is set for the MGM Grand, but for something this big, there’s a real good chance this gets flipped to T-Mobile Arena.
If Mayweather-McGregor were at MGM Arena, I had ticket sales at $60.5M.
T-Mobile adds 3,400 seats & another $16.5M ($77M) in revenue.

McGregor being the amazing trash-talker that he is, has already come out firing with his announcement tweet that includes a picture side by side of himself and Floyd Mayweather Sr, not Jr. McGregor is already bringing his value to this fight. He’s going to be the one making headlines and talking before late August.

There’s absolutely no way this lives up to the hype right? Mayweather is one of the best boxers ever and McGregor is walking into a new sport essentially. I have no knowledge on either sport, but that seems like a pretty big issue. Even if we let McGregor train for a year on this fight, would that make a difference to a guy who’s 49-0 like Floyd?
Bovada has McGregor at +500 to win and Mayweather at -800 at the moment. That’s some pretty big odds, but how can you not expect Mayweather to win? But that doesn’t stop McGregor one bit.
Dana White: Conor McGregor is 100 percent positive he will win this fight.

Kind of a win-win for McGregor either way. Lose and the excuse train is chugging along and it fits the narrative. Make it a close match and then the speculation starts to get real loud about a potential rematch and another round of pay days for everyone.
Mayweather vs McGregor is going to dominate social media on August 26th, and there’s a better than not chance this will be the first fight I legitimately buy.
