Revenge is a dish best served cold. The Minnesota Vikings will have a chance to get some revenge against the Saints, the team that took a Super Bowl opportunity away from them.
Feels fitting doesn’t it? The New Orleans Saints will be coming into U.S. Bank Stadium next weekend and the winner will move on to the NFC Championship game. The Vikings will be a favorite in Vegas, but not by much, probably around 4.5 points I would guess.
Both teams are quite different than the two that played on Monday Night Football to open the season. Back then the Vikings had Sam Bradford under center and an exciting rookie running back in Dalvin Cook. The Saints had questions at running back with Adrian Peterson standing on the sidelines more than in the huddle. Now the Vikings have Case Keenum leading the charge at QB and an all-around running game split between Jerick McKinnon and Latavius Murray. The Saints are the team now that have the exciting rookie running back in Alvin Kamara.
I feel good about our chances. I think our defense benefits when we play a team that has a QB that stays in the pocket. Mike Thomas is a hell of a receiver but we have the best lockdown corner in the league.
But now the real season starts. Two wins and we are playing for a Super Bowl at home.
